PROJECT
The Conferenza Metropolitana
In 2000, the Municipality and the Province of Torino, with the support of Torino Internazionale, created the Conferenza Metropolitana to stimulate research into new forms of governance. The Conference involves 38 municipalities (20 municipalities have formally adhered to the initiative), to discuss supra-territorial managerial problems, like regulating mobility and transport systems, urban planning, organizing health services and civil defense. The objective is to constitute headquarters in which the institutions can become accustomed to searching for agreed-upon solutions, confronting each other on an equal footing and exchanging information rapidly.

INVESTIGATION
The map of the projects
Created in 2001, with advice from the architects and urban specialists of Avventura Urbana, it is an online, interactive, geographic map of the actions of the Strategic Plan. The objective of the project is to illustrate the transformations in the metropolitan area and to describe the on-going projects. The map was revised and simplified in 2003, and today it indicates the most strategically-important projects, with 50 support files.
